ABOUT
Mission
The Miclot International Music Competition is open to solo instrumentalists from ages 6-24. In accordance with the aims of Miclot Arts & Culture, a non-profit organization founded in 1993 to cultivate and promote the arts, our mission is to inspire our artists to pursue their vision and tireless advocacy of music-making and embrace new generations of artists and audiences. The Miclot International Music Competition is created to discover and encourage the diverse musical talents of children at all skill levels.
Through participation in the Miclot International Music Competition, our young artists will
gain experience in performing music for their peers and outside audiences
be initiated into the community of performing artists
have the opportunity to receive accolades for their work, motivating them to continue pursuing their musical practice and further performance opportunities
understand and appreciate the hard work involved in both practicing and performing
be encouraged to make music a significant part of their life
experience the togetherness and community-building involved in making music with and around their peers
benefit from increased engagement with the arts for overall student achievement and well-being
“We believe in the power of programs that foster relationships through music to build pathways for every young person to succeed in life, no matter how challenging their past.”
